Public transport map
Public transport route planning can be done on the RATB website . RATB is the public transport company of Bucharest Municipality. The one-way ticket price is 1.3 lei. The one-day ticket price is 8 lei. From Otopeni airport to city you can travel with 780 and 783 RATB express bus lines. More info about these express lines you can find here and ticket prices here .
If you want to travel by subway the two-way ticket price is 2.5 lei. The one-day ticket price is 5 lei. Subway route planning can be done on the Metrorex website . Metrorex is the company of Bucharest Municipality that operates the subway.
Taxi
In Bucharest all taxis are yellow. Prices vary the journey by taxi from 1.39 lei per Km to 3.5 lei per Km. Initial charge is equal to the rate per kilometer. No charges other than those specified duties.
Some basic rules to travel by taxi in Bucharest:
1) Remember, in Bucharest all taxis are yellow and are inscribed with the taxi logo, company logo and all charges. Most are the Dacia Logan, but you can find other brands: Peugeot, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Daewoo, Fiat.
2) Wearing seat belt is mandatory if you stay in front near the driver.
3) Travel by taxi only if charged device is functional. Do not accept travel by negotiation. It is possible that initial conditions are not the same at the end of your trip.
4) Do not pay travel by taxi in foreign currency. Make exchange rate before you travel by taxi. At the airport you can find exchange houses (exchange rates are not very favorable).
5) If traveling by taxi from the airport is recommended that you make a reservation in advance. If traveling by taxi from the airport without reservation in advance, travel by taxi with inscriptions taxi logo, company logo, all charges and AEROPORT logo.
