Welcome to 1st International Congress
Laser Bucharest
November 11-13, 2010, ROMANIA

Dear Guests,
Last year, after more than 10 years of attending national and international meetings,  I have considered it is time for our institution to organize a conference regarding lasers. It is our intention to show the proper respect for this remarkable phenomenon the laser represents, by its significance at this moment and more so in the future to come. Also, we wish to express our gratitude to those people who build lasers, to people who use them to make our lives more comfortable and to people who research more and more ways of using lasers to solve humanities vital problems. Some of the challenges to overcome are energy sustainability in the future, health care, scientific research, military and industrial applications.

To ensure a scientific peak for our congress we have invited leading personalities in this field: David Baxter, Mary Dyson, Kira Samoilova, Penny Smalley etc., who will have key papers on current and very interesting issues. Members of The Scientific Committee, important personalities regarding lasers, will provide a peer review of the papers to be presented throughout the sessions of the congress.

While not a grand institution as compared to other higher education institutions, our experience in organizing conferences and quality teaching staff allow us to hope that this congress will be a success. Your participation at this conference honors us and it is a sine qua non precondition for success.

For carrying out this congress we have support from national and international organizations and institutions, mentioned on the website, which we thank again this way.

In order to ensure a warm atmosphere of friendship, communication, sharing of ideas, events, memories etc., we planned a quite rich social program that will allow knowledge of places and facts that we take pride in Romania. For our guests to spend as much time together, we proposed a single hotel accommodation (and possibly other options) at a walking distance from the location where work will take place.

Depending on the interest in this conference, we hope to hold more in the future, once every two years, alternating with RSLD congress (Romanian Society of Lasers in Dentistry), which takes place in Timisoara.
